We received around 700 entries from 70 countries; it was difficult to select only 350 entries! Many thanks to our Jury for their hard work!

The First International Watercolor Festival in Russia under the auspices of the International Watercolor Society (IWS). Organized by Galina Shargina (Head of IWS Russia), in collaboration with Egor Shulakov (IWS Tioindogo Gallery), Natalia Popova (Head of IWS Siberia) and Sareh Mohebeian (IWS Globe Manager, owner of IWS Sareh Gallery Moscow). The festival will take place in the three largest Russian cities: Saint-Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Moscow. In Saint-Petersburg, in the Large Hall of The Union of Artists, 300 works will be exhibited. Then the best works selected by the international jury will travel to Novosibirsk, and then to Moscow. During the festival, there will be an extensive program with demonstrations of watercolor masters, master classes, and an art market. A more detailed program of the festival in each city is in development and will be published later.
TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
· Artists from all over the world aged 18 and over can take part in the festival.
· Each artist presents ONE work in half-sheet size (38x56cm vertically or horizontally).
· Medium: Traditional watercolor work (at least 90% watercolor), executed on paper no earlier than in 2019.
· Theme: unrestricted.
· NOT accepted: collages, pastels, digital images. Works from master classes, copies or imitations of the works of other artists, works made according to other people's references are not allowed.
SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION
Submitting the application is free and must be done no later than May 1st, 2021.
Prepare a file with an image of your work. Image size on the long side must be at least 2500 pixels. The file name must be in English in the following format:
Country_Artist name_Painting title_Size_Year_Price in Russian rubes.jpg
Example: USA_John Smith_March Blizzard_38x56_2020_9000rub.jpg
The file should match the original painting as closely as possible. Digital image processing is not permitted. The file should contain ONLY the image of your work, without borders, frames, mats and other objects. If the file does not meet all of the listed requirements, your application will not be considered.
The price of your work must be specified in Russian rubles.

IWS country leaders participate free of charge, if at least 10 applications are submitted from their country.
Participation fee includes: a certificate of participation, framing of an author's work, printing a catalog, costs of sending the work and the certificate to the artist after the end of the exhibition.
All participants of the festival will receive a digital version of the catalog of the exhibition. Delivery of the printed catalog is not included in the price and is paid separately:
· Foreign artists: 30 euros
· Russian artists: 700 rubles
The requisites for payment of the participation fee and for the delivery of the printed catalog will be communicated to the selected artists after the announcement of the selection results. Payment must be made no later than June 15th, 2021. Works by artists who do not pay their fees on time will not be included in the catalog or participate in the exhibition.

SALE OF WORKS
All works at the exhibition will be for sale. The artist indicates his price in the application. The organizer, as the sales agent, will add their commission to this price (30%).
SENDING AND RETURNING OF WORKS
All works selected for participation in the exhibition must be delivered to the organizer in Russia no later than July 15th, 2021. The address for sending the works will be communicated to the participants after the announcement of the results. Currently, due to the pandemic, the post is working with delays. We strongly recommend sending your work as soon as possible after the results are announced.
Works and certificates will be sent to artists after the end of the exhibition, starting from November 2021.
INSURANCE
The organizer will treat the work with great care, but will not be responsible for any loss or damage in any way. Artists are encouraged to buy their own insurance for their artworks.
